Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that our business operates on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinabewaki, the Haudenosaunee, the Attiwonderonk, and the Wendake-Nionwentsïo peoples, and we pay our respects to the elders both past and present.

At Commercial Heavy Equipment Training (CHET), we believe it is important to acknowledge the traditional lands on which we operate. We are settlers on these lands, and we recognize the deep connections that the Indigenous peoples have with this territory. We understand the importance of acknowledging the lands as an expression of gratitude and appreciation to those whose territory we reside on, and a way of honouring the Indigenous people who have been living and working on the land from time immemorial.

We also want to acknowledge that the struggle for Indigenous rights is deeply connected to all our work. The issues that we deal with daily, such as transport and logistics, are not separate from the systemic issues faced by Indigenous peoples. We commit to continuing to learn about these issues, to listen to the voices of Indigenous peoples, and to incorporate this understanding into our work.

We recognize the deep connections they have with these lands and we thank them for their stewardship and the important role they continue to play within our community.
