CERTIFIED DRIVER MENTOR PROGRAM
The Mentor Program offers companies the opportunity to onboard newly graduated students, providing them with a structured three-week mentorship under the guidance of an experienced and trained mentor.
Week 1: Foundational Training
During the first week, the mentorship will focus on trip inspections, hours of service, and specific paperwork details. Due to their lack of experience and stamina, new drivers will be limited to driving up to 7 hours daily to avoid fatigue. For the remaining shift, the mentee will observe the mentor. At the end of each shift, the mentor will complete and submit all necessary documents for review, followed by a discussion with the mentee on areas of improvement and successful practices.
Week 2: Developing Competence
In the second week, the mentee should be capable of driving the full work shift and completing all daily tasks. While perfection is not expected at this stage, consistent improvement should be evident. The mentor will monitor the mentee’s progress closely, providing feedback and support as needed.
Week 3: Proficiency and Assessment
By the third week, the mentee should be able to perform all tasks proficiently. If the mentor assesses that the mentee is ready, they will sign off on their readiness, and the mentee will complete a final road test for their training documentation. If further training is needed, the mentee will continue under mentorship until they are fully prepared to drive independently.
