Strengthening Communities Through Partnership: A Year-End Update from Musket Transport & CHET

As 2025 winds down, we’re reflecting on the incredible impact our community partners have made possible this year. At Musket Transport and Commercial Heavy Equipment Training (CHET), collaboration isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we actively build, load, and deliver.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight our ongoing work with United Way Halton & Hamilton (UWHH) and The Salvation Army, while also sharing exciting news about a brand-new partnership that’s set to change lives in 2026 and beyond.

UNITED WAY HALTON & HAMILTON: A PARTNERSHIP THAT MOVES COMMUNITIES

Our collaboration with UWHH has always been rooted in shared values such as community support, resource accessibility, and the belief that good logistics creates real-world impact. Through the Community Donation Warehouse, UWHH distributes unused corporate inventory to over 50 local agencies, helping stretch non-profit budgets and get essential items- from hygiene products and clothing to household goods- into the hands of the people who need them most.

This partnership was unique from day one. UWHH needed reliable transportation and overflow storage; CHET students needed real-world, confidence-building experience before licensing. Together, we created a model that supported students, increased UWHH’s capacity, and amplified community impact.

“Without amazing companies like CHET providing this much-needed transportation, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. CHET has been a reliable transportation partner, ensuring that we can receive donations on a regular basis.” – Kayla Willet, Associate Director of Community Engagement & Programming, UWHH

We’re actively exploring new ways to continue this partnership in 2026, because strong community ties don’t end when a lease does.

THE SALVATION ARMY: MAKING SPACE FOR HOLIDAY JOY

Christmas spirit takes many forms, but in the Salvation Army’s Toy Distribution program, it looks like 70,000+ families receiving gifts they otherwise couldn’t afford. This year, Musket had the privilege of helping clear the way, literally, for more holiday magic.

With space at a premium in the Salvation Army’s distribution warehouse, Musket stepped in to provide a shipping container capable of storing 40 skids of non-essential inventory. Moving that product off-site created the breathing room their team needed to accept, sort, and distribute thousands more toys.

“Through partnerships with companies like Musket, we’re able to support even more children in the GTA. Musket is providing additional space we need to receive more toys from our partners and communities.” – Rory Sheesby, Supply Chain Manager, Salvation Army Food & Toy Distribution Warehouse

A little extra square footage goes a long way during the holidays, and we’re proud to help make that possible.

COMING IN 2026: A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH LIFE-CHANGING POTENTIAL

We’re thrilled to share that Musket Transport and CHET have officially partnered with Highway to Hope, a charitable initiative dedicated to opening doors for Black and Indigenous youth entering the trucking industry.

Highway to Hope removes every barrier to training by fully sponsoring AZ licensing, including tuition and cost-of-living support, creating an unprecedented opportunity that has the power to reshape lives and strengthen the industry.

After touring CHET’s facilities this month, the Highway to Hope team enthusiastically confirmed the partnership, noting strong alignment in mission and values. Not only will CHET train sponsored students, but Musket has pledged to train one youth entirely free of charge in 2026 as part of the program’s launch.

This is still in its early stages, but the potential is enormous: new careers, new representation within the industry, and new pathways for young people who might never have imagined themselves behind the wheel of an AZ rig. Stay tuned for much more to come.

LOOKING AHEAD

Partnerships like these remind us why we do what we do. Transportation is about more than freight, it’s about people, possibilities, and building systems that make life better for the communities we serve.

As we roll into 2026, we’re energized by the impact of the work we’ve done together and inspired by the opportunities ahead. To UWHH, The Salvation Army, and Highway to Hope and all of our partners: thank you for trusting us as your partner on the road toward a stronger future.
